In today’s fast-paced, immediate gratification society it seems that the best way to gain notoriety is with flashy + viral social media content. Everyone’s looking for the next best thing.
Before you dive head first into creating controversial posts to gain followers overnight, let’s take a step back and check out three impactful things content creators understand.
Three things impactful content creators know:
- Your roots should be firmly planted
You know who you are. You know what you stand for. And when your content is based on your knowledge and your belief – it’s powerful. You don’t have to say the perfect thing or always have the right words. Repetition in knowing your beliefs creates confidence. Having the knowledge from your research and the wisdom from your experiences and conversations is a force to be reckoned with. Knowing where your roots are planted gives you the confidence to be able to speak directly against what the market is saying head on. If you want to sell something powerfully; if you want people to listen to you – you have to stand for it first.
- Your knowledge is a gift to be shared
You’re passionate about your knowledge of your product. You have the tools in your toolbelt that have the ability to be life giving for someone else. What value are you providing to those around you when you keep that knowledge close to your chest out of fear of judgement. Your followers are going to consume someone’s content whether its truth-filled or a lie. And if we’re being honest with ourselves, the content that lies probably has no issue being flashy or polarizing. Is it not your duty to ensure that your product knowledge and wisdom is heard by your audience?
- Your content is not for you
We get it – it’s hard to get over the hump that is yourself. But at the end of the day – take yourself out of the equation. You were put on this earth to serve. Stop thinking about what others are thinking of YOU. It’s easy to be apologetic and worry about what everyone else will think or say about your content. Stay in your own lane and simply do the next right thing. Serve others. Make a lasting impact. When you believe what you’re saying and you are trying to help someone, you have the courage to to get on that live video or write that email even if you’re a little bit uncomfortable.

At Guide Culture, we’re on a mission to not just empower people to make more sales, but equip them to do it better and faster than ever before. Our version of winning looks like watching you lead your prospects to the right solution for them, lead your team to a common goal, or lead your family to grow into the humans you know they can be. We believe sales is bigger than that slimy feeling you say you get when you pitch a new prospect. It’s about loving and serving your people well. And learning how to do it is not something you can afford to push to the side anymore.
